Gutrude Terms of Use

These terms are between you and Torstein Skulbru, Norway (sole proprietor) ("we"). They cover the Gutrude app and Gutrude Plus. They add to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"), which applies to your use of the app.

1. Who can use Gutrude

You must be 16 or older. The Trigger Finder program is for adults aged 18 and over. If you are under 16, please do not use the app.

2. Wellness, not medical

> Gutrude is for general wellness and self-tracking. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Always check with a doctor before making medical decisions or big changes to your diet. If you think you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.

Using Gutrude does not create a relationship with a doctor. Patterns, grades and results in the app are observations from your own entries. They are not a verdict and they are not advice. Gutrude's red-flag messages exist to remind you to talk to a doctor.

3. The Trigger Finder

The Trigger Finder is a self-guided food journal and self-experiment based on the elimination-and-reintroduction approach many dietitians use. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before you start. It is not for people who are pregnant, who have or are recovering from an eating disorder, or who are under 18. Stop and ask a doctor if something worries you.

4. Gutrude Plus and billing

  • Plus is on for your first 21 days. No card, nothing to cancel. The 21 days start on your first launch, are counted on your device and end without any charge. After that the free features stay free and some Plus features lock.
  • To keep Plus you can subscribe through Apple: Plus Annual or Plus Quarterly. The price and period are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel it.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. In the EEA and Norway you keep your statutory consumer rights.
  • Restore Purchases in the app brings your subscription back on a new device.
  • Safety features are never locked: red-flag messages, the doctor line, the free Doctor Report PDF from a safety message (when available), Export and Delete all.

5. Your content

Everything you log is yours and stays on your device. We do not receive it, so we cannot lose, sell or analyse it. You are responsible for your device backups.

6. Licence and ownership

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under the Apple EULA. The app, its text, art and the Gutrude character belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer or resell them, except where the law allows.

7. Warranty and liability

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make about your health or diet. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing removes the mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

8. Changes and ending

We may update the app and these terms. We date and version each change and will tell you in the app about material changes. You can stop using Gutrude at any time. We may stop offering the app with reasonable notice, and we will keep Export and Delete all available for as long as the app runs.

9. Governing law

Norwegian law applies, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Disputes go to the courts of Norway, except that consumers may also use the courts of their home country.

10. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Apple EULA and may enforce it against you.
