Terms of Service for Arcana

Agreement
By downloading or using Arcana: Tarot & Palm Reader ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. The app is operated by Torstein Skulbru, Norway ("we", "us").
For Reflection and Entertainment Only
Arcana provides tarot and palmistry readings for reflection, self-exploration, and entertainment purposes only. Readings are generated by an AI language model and by traditional card meanings. They are not:
- Predictions of the future
- Medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice
- A substitute for consulting a qualified professional
Do not make significant life decisions based on a reading. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or someone you trust.
Subscriptions and Purchases
Arcana offers optional purchases, billed by Apple through your App Store account:
- Arcana Plus (weekly) — auto-renewing subscription with a 3-day free trial. You are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Arcana Plus (annual) — auto-renewing yearly subscription
- Deck editions — one-time purchases that remain yours permanently
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your device Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions — cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Prices are shown in the app before any purchase, including the annualized cost of weekly plans and the exact trial charge date. Refunds are handled by Apple; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Fair Use
AI-generated readings have real per-reading costs. Daily generation limits apply to keep the service sustainable. Attempting to circumvent limits, abuse the reading service, or access it outside the app is prohibited.
Content and Intellectual Property
The card imagery in Arcana is reproduced from original printings (1909–1930s) of the Waite-Smith tarot deck, which are in the public domain. The app's scans, presentation, software, and generated readings are our work; you may share readings using the app's share feature for personal, non-commercial use.
Your Content
Your questions, notes, and palm photos remain yours. They are stored on your device; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is transmitted to generate a reading.
Availability and Changes
Personalized readings depend on third-party AI services and may be temporarily unavailable; the app always provides traditional card meanings offline. We may modify or discontinue features, and may update these terms — material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for decisions made or actions taken based on readings, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the preceding 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law, including Norwegian and EU consumer law.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 16 years old to use Arcana, or the equivalent minimum age indicated by the App Store age rating in your country or region.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
